Effective date: Jul 25, 2026

Tapley Law (“Tapley Law,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) provides this Privacy Policy for the website located at trademarks.tapley.law (the “Site“). It explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information obtained through the Site.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information collected through the Site and through communications submitted through the Site. It does not govern information collected in an attorney-client relationship, which may be subject to separate engagement terms, professional duties, and legal obligations.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:

  • Contact and inquiry information: name, email address, telephone number, company name, and the contents of a message or inquiry you choose to submit.
  • Professional and business information: job title, employer, business address, and information relating to a trademark, brand, or business matter that you provide.
  • Internet and device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages viewed, interactions with the Site, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Marketing preferences: your choices about receiving newsletters or other communications.

Please do not submit information that you consider highly sensitive through a general Site contact form unless we expressly request it through a secure channel.

3. Sources of Information

We collect personal information directly from you when you submit a form, communicate with us, subscribe to communications, or otherwise provide information. We may also collect internet and device information automatically through cookies and similar technologies. We may receive information from service providers that support the Site, analytics, communications, scheduling, payment processing, or client-intake functions.

4. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to inquiries and evaluate whether to provide requested information or services;
  • operate, secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Site;
  • administer communications, subscriptions, and marketing preferences;
  • analyze Site performance and measure the effectiveness of our communications;
  • protect the rights, property, security, and confidentiality of Tapley Law, Site users, and others;
  • comply with applicable law, professional obligations, and lawful requests; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We will not use personal information for materially different purposes without providing notice as required by applicable law.

5. Attorney-Client Relationship; Confidentiality

Submitting information through the Site, emailing us, or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Do not submit confidential, privileged, or time-sensitive information through the Site.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, understand Site use, and measure or deliver advertising. You can control certain cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.

Analytics and Advertising

  • We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site.
  • We use Yoat for analytics and/or advertising. Those tools may collect information about your activity on this and other sites and may support cross-context behavioral advertising. See California Privacy Rights below for opt-out choices, where applicable.

7. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • service providers and contractors that host or secure the Site, provide email, client-intake, scheduling, analytics, payment, or other support services;
  • professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, insurers, and auditors, where necessary;
  • government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, confidentiality, or security; and
  • successors or counterparties in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction.

If we use third-party advertising or social-media technologies that constitute a sale or sharing, the California choices described below will apply.

8. Retention

We retain personal information for the period reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to respond to inquiries, maintain business and professional records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. The applicable period depends on the nature of the information, the purpose of processing, our professional and legal obligations, and whether continued retention is necessary for security, fraud-prevention, or claim-defense purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us at info@tapley.law, and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Links to Other Sites

The Site may link to websites, services, or platforms we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. Review their privacy policies before providing information.

12. U.S. State Privacy Rights

This section supplements the other parts of this Privacy Policy for residents of U.S. states whose comprehensive privacy laws apply to Tapley Law and the relevant processing activity. Applicability can depend on the firm’s annual revenue, the volume and type of personal information processed, the nature of the activity, and statutory exemptions. This section does not expand rights beyond those required by applicable law.

Consumer Requests

Subject to applicable law and exceptions, eligible residents may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about our processing of their personal information; to appeal a decision on a privacy request; and, where applicable, to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or profiling activities.

You or an authorized agent, where permitted, may submit a request by emailing info@tapley.law. We will verify requests using information reasonably necessary to confirm identity and authority. Where an appeal right applies, we will provide instructions for appealing a request decision in our response.

We will not discriminate against a person for exercising applicable privacy rights.

13. International Visitors and Cross-Border Transfers

Tapley Law is based in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States or submit information to us from another country, your information may be collected, processed, stored, and disclosed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence.

Where applicable law requires additional notices, a legal basis for processing, consent for non-essential cookies, a transfer mechanism, or additional individual rights, Tapley Law will provide the required information or obtain consent through the Site, a supplemental notice, or another appropriate method. Individuals outside the United States may contact us at info@tapley.law with privacy-related requests; we will respond as required by applicable law.

14. Consent and Cookie Choices for International Visitors

Where required by applicable law, we will obtain consent before placing or accessing non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us at info@tapley.law. This does not affect cookies or technologies that are strictly necessary to operate, secure, or provide requested Site functionality.

15. State and Country-Specific Supplements

As Tapley Law’s targeting, services, vendors, or processing activities change, it may add jurisdiction-specific supplements. The absence of a supplement does not limit any rights that apply under mandatory law.

16. No Representation of Global Compliance

This Privacy Policy is designed as a U.S. law-firm website baseline with conditional U.S. state and international modules. It should not be presented as a representation that Tapley Law is subject to, or complies with, every privacy law worldwide.

17. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Site and revise the Effective Date above. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
